My aunt is recovering from an operation at this facility and I visited her recently. There is plenty of staff, so help is available when needed, and the staff are cheerful and friendly. And she praised the cleaning crew in particular, who she says are meticulous. The facility does seem clean and well maintained, though a bit old. About the only negative I noted is that the facility is a bit noisy. The tile floors carry a lot of sound, and the public address system is loud and used frequently.

There are several problems with St. Francis Heights, even though it is rated better than most local convalescent hospitals. In the interest, no doubt, of expediency, all the patients apparently are in diapers at night. My mother did not need to be in diapers, and asked to be able to use a bedpan. The staff had diapered her and told her to relieve herself in her diaper. Later, a nurse advised that my mother's medical notes said she was incontinent. She was just being infantilized by the routines of the convalescent hospital.

The door across from my room slammed constantly and the shower area was really outdated. I felt unsafe. The food is awful, served cold and over processed. I requested fresh vegetables for my meals and it could not be provided. Healthy food and sleep is vital to the healing process and it won't happen at St Francis Heights. After my experience I wouldn't admit my family members to this facility. This indicates the number of times residents are rehospitalized per thousand days of short-term patient care. This metric measures the percent of long-term patients which suffer from pressure ulcers.
And they told someone in my family that my sister can’t video chat with my mom.my sister is in the Philippines and she is very concern with my mom that’s the only communication they have. My father was here recovering after a stroke and he was neglected for three days. Rehabilitation treatments were non existent - they consisted of helping him go to the bathroom. Going to the bathroom was called 'occupational therapy.' checking out was a nightmare and they refused to give my father his prescription.
Every time I was there I made sure she was served hot meals. Can you imagine being served a cold, flavorless scrambled egg every morning? It is also really difficult to sleep there because they keep the doors to the rooms open and the hallways are noisy. Sometimes it is bells and buzzers, sometimes staff talking in the hall, sometimes it is a patient who is having a really difficult time, screaming. Under those conditions anyone would have a difficult time sleeping.
